Connections for biodiversity: what green, blue and black networks achieve in Luxembourg
On this evening, we will introduce the importance of ecological connectivity between natural habitats. Structures that link these habitats form networks that enable animal and plant species to move, feed, reproduce, or rest. These networks, often referred to as “trames” (ecological corridors), are essential for preserving biodiversity.
Speakers: Dr Sandra Cellina, Carole Molitor, Tiago De Sousa
Dr Sandra Cellina is a zoologist and head of the Nature Department at the Luxembourg Nature and Forestry Administration (ANF).
Carole Molitor is a limnologist and head of the Ecology and Fisheries Department at the Water Management Administration (AGE).
Tiago De Sousa is an ecologist and research officer at the ANF Nature Department.
You will hear three talks:
Green Network – More than just hedgerows (Dr Sandra Cellina, ANF)
Blue Network – From the Sauer to the sea and back (Carole Molitor, AGE)
Black Network – A network for nocturnal biodiversity (Tiago De Sousa, ANF)
